New The Outer Space Men in 2018 - Meet Cthulhu Nautilus!
I'm excited! On Instagram, we got a tease of one of four new characters slated for The Outer Space Men in 2018. Meet Cthulhu Nautlius! If it looks familiar, you saw designs for this figure years ago on Mel Birnkrant's page. And if you were anything like me, you have been hoping it would get made in plastic.

More Cosmic Radiation Outer Space Men Coming - Inferno This Week!
If you love Cosmic Radiation The Outer Space Men figures - and you know I do! - three more are coming. The first of which is Inferno, dropping Wednesday, October 11, at 9:00 PM Eastern. (Or earlier a bit, if history has been any indication.
In addition to Inferno, packaged samples of Inferno and Xodiac were posted to the official Outer Space Men Instagram. For those keeping track at home, this means Metamorpho, Astrodite, Jack Asteroid, Terra Firma, Ohpromatem, Horroscope are the only figures not yet sold in the Cosmic Radiation style. According to Gary Schaeffer, a very limited number of carded figures - including a Signed Inferno to celebrate Mel Birnkrant's 80th Birthday - will be going up soon as well.A post shared by Gary B Schaeffer (@the_outer_space_men) on

New Outer Space Men - Meet Luna Eclipse and Zero Gravity
I missed this - Mel Birnkrant slipped in two new sketchbook pages for upcoming Cosmic Radiation glow-in-the-dark humans from the moon with Luna Eclipse and Zero Gravity (new heads and glow bodies for Terra Firma and Jack Asteroid, respectively.)
Luna Eclipse and Zero Gravity both come from the dark side of the moon, and feature glowing suits and glowing facial elements. Luna's hair partially glows, and so does Zero's teeth - designer Mel Birnkrant wrote: "I visualized a big glow in the dark grin, which is something that, in my very limited involvement with action figures, I have never seen."
No release date was given, but these are being tooled along with the long-awaited Astrodite - which we first saw around February 2013. A four or five year wait is nothing - about half of the Glyos The Outer Space Men figures we've received thus far were based on designs from the 1960s and didn't get produced until the 2010s. Five years is nothing.

New White Star Outer Space Men for NYCC, Great Price
The follow-up to the SDCC White Star set is almost here! New York Comic Con will get this sextet on October 10, while some will go on sale at Store Horsemen on or about October 14. They are set to be sold at the Onell Design booth. Click here for more.
The pricing is quite reasonable compared to the SDCC Alpha Wave and White Star Wave - figures are $11 for basics, $16 for deluxes, or $35 for a pack of 3. Sadly there is no all-in six-pack discount, but the average per-figure price is now a swell $11.67.
For the record, the sets break down as follows:
- Wave 6, Deluxe 2 set (Colossus Rex, Horrorscope & Ohpromatem) – Beta/White Star Edition – $35
- Wave 7, Deluxe 3 set (Gamma-X, Jack Asteroid & Terra Firma) – Beta/White Star Edition – $35
Customizers, this may be the deal of the year. (But kindly let me buy my set before you chop these all up.)

Outer Space Men Jack Asteroid Sculpt Debuted at NYCC
ToyArk.com debuted an image showcasing new sculpts, well, some resculpts and one new sculpt. Jack Asteroid, the first Earth human male concept we saw recently in the Outer Space Men line, was on display much to the surprise of people who are me. I seriously wasn't expecting to see this one... but there he is! Perhaps he'll debut in 2013 or 2014.
The figure, if you missed it, was designed as a refresh of Metamorpho reusing Terra Firma's accessories and a new head sculpt. If you're at New York Comic Con this weekend, be sure to go check it out in person.
UPDATE: Tad Ghostal posted a much better photo of the two humans on the Fantastic Exclusive forums.

Cosmic Creators: Mel Birnkrant Edition, The Sequel
Here's a fun surprise! The always fun Mel Birnkrant posted another batch of Outer Space Men "custom" figures which are a little bit more fancy than the original 2011 deco figures. Needless to say, I love 'em. (Also needless to say, I hope they aren't $125 for the set again.)
You can find them all here with tons of production notes and pictures.
The new figures are as follows:
Red Devil Mystron: Clear orange figure painted purple. Looks really nice, the face is also orange. The weapon is gold, as are all the weapons in this subset. The purple gargoyle gun looks particularly nice, too.
Fire and Ice Electron+: At first glance it isn't super-different, but it is. The figure is made of translucent blue plastic with silver armor painted over it. The head is clear blue, and there are some orange bits to be "fire." It looks nice.
Alpha 11: Based on an unproduced concept for a refresh of Alpha 7 from the late 1960s. Does not include the little starhopper vehicle, but has a nifty new deco and a new "garment" painted over his head. Gold gun, orange helmet. I approve.
Blue Angel Commander Comet: Rounding out the set, this figure now has metallic blue armor plus a two-piece helmet which is purple in the front and blue in the back. I really like it too. The metallic, iridescent deco on the armor looks like it might be even cooler in person.
So there ya go! Four more new guys. Now go get a bigger shelf, because there will probably be some new Four Horsemen ones coming too.

Outer Space Men Waves 1 & 2 2.0 Revealed
They're better! Are they better enough? The Four Horsemen revealed new takes on Astro-Nautilus, Metamorpho, Inferno, and Xodiac, and dang if they aren't all pretty neat.
Inferno (pictured) now has clear plastic parts which look closer to the original prototype bendable figure. Astro-Nautilus has a darker trident and newly-colored skin. Xodiac's accessories are recolored... the figure was pretty much perfect before as it was. And Metamorpho has a lot more clear plastic and a newly-colored sorta-translucent helmet, based on Mel Birnkrant's own customizations shown on his web site a year and change back.
All in all, interesting stuff. Be sure to take a look!
