Review: Four Horsemen Outer Space Men Beta Phase Horroscope Action Figure

Four Horsemen Outer Space Men Beta Phase Horroscope Action FigureMore custom fodder than a great figure unto itself, Horroscope is solid white except for her eyes and some clear blue pieces. The elephantrix from Saturn sports tusks, multiple trunks, three eyes, and a belly gem indicating her planet of origin - which is also shown on her staff with its rings.

Review: Four Horsemen Outer Space Men White Star Electron+ Action Figure

Four Horsemen Outer Space Men White Star Electron+ Action FigureSpace is a fascinating thing - heck, science in general is great as it changes our perception of the world, and our toys follow. This entire line was conceived before man ever sat foot on the moon, so the potential for our being alone in the solar system was a lot different. We didn't open the box and kill life on other planets yet, so the notion that something could be out there wasn't quite as fanciful as it appears today. With the recent visit to Pluto, it makes sense that we look at White Star Electron+ as he was still in the hopper. A lot has changed in the last two years, namely the line finished its five-year mission and the license expired over at the Four Horsemen. New figures may be coming, but the prices of some old figures have plummeted thanks to what one sharp toy collector referred to as "punitive" repaints. He's not wrong.

OuterSpaceMen.com Figure Flash Sale

http://www.theouterspacemen.com/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&page=shop.browse&category_id=21&keyword=&manufacturer_id=0&Itemid=26&orderby=product_name&limit=30&limitstart=30
Over at TheOuterSpaceMen.com, there's a sale now - figures dating back several years are up for grabs, individually, for as little as $10.  Even the Cosmic Creator figures that some of us spent $125 on for the set and carried them back to our hotel in New York a couple of miles in the snow are down to a paltry $20 a pop - a fantastic price.
It looks like a few may have sold out, but $10 Cosmic Creators and $15 Cyclops Infinity are some pretty fantastic buys.  Get 'em while you can!

Four Horsemen License Expires, New Outer Space Men Still Coming

We did get a press release.  The five-year The Outer Space Men license with the Four Horsemen have expired and it appears Mel Birnkrant, Gary Schaeffer, and Matt Doughty are going to be in charge of whatever happens next.

The official Outer Space Men Twitter Feed hints at releases of new characters and figures - at this time, one Astrodite is the only known sculpted-but-unreleased character.

The full press release after the cut.

Review: Four Horsemen Outer Space Men Beta Phase Jack Asteroid Action Figure

Four Horsemen Outer Space Men Beta Phase Jack Asteroid Action FigureIt's funny to write this column, because I get to watch how my excitement can turn into indifference or scorn with time. The well-priced White Star Jack Asteroid seems like great custom fodder, but as to the figure itself, a year later, I couldn't remember if I reviewed it or not. The White Star "set" remains incomplete with 3 aliens never being produced (or announced, as far as I know) and it wouldn't surprise me if the license was done. I'm a little surprised we didn't see a figure or two pop up as an exclusive somewhere, but here we are. After a year, I still haven't opened the White Star set and I don't know that I care to do so.
