Review: Four Horsemen Outer Space Men Cosmic Creators Mel Birnkrant Inferno Action Figure
How many times can you repaint the same mold before it gets boring? Well, Inferno just got his fifth release, and in a strange twist the pricing was increased significantly for this one. I think there's good cause, mostly because "Blazing Inferno" looks and feels more expensive. This is a mixed blessing, because I bought this same figure four times already for ten bucks a pop. So why did I buy it anyway? I knew I'd cave in eventually, and it seemed better to cave at $125 for the set of 4 than it would be to cave when the secondary market price "dips" to $250 some day in the distant future.

Review: Four Horsemen Outer Space Men Galactic Holiday Mystron Action Figure
Because of Toy Fair in New York, figures like Mystron got written up a long time before they were posted-- this is what we call planning ahead. As the third release of the character, and technically the third pre-release as the painted version had yet to ship as of his release, this particular Mystron was cast in a bizarre green color. I say "bizarre" because, while appropriate for the Christmas season, I generally don't think of "green" when I think of "the center of the Earth" or, more specifically, Hell. Brown? Sure. Red? Absolutely. Smokey grey? Yes. But not green, even though it turns out the ghostly color really works well for this devilish creation.

Because I Missed It: Cosmic Creators Outer Space Men Four Horsemen Edition
I don't know how I missed these, but Tad Ghostal found Four Horsemen Cosmic Creators Series Figures at Futuretro last night. I didn't even see 'em. No release date or price was given, but they look gorgeous. ...so how much are they?

GALLERY: Futuretro Outer Space Men Design Boards, Prototypes
I posted the first of several Four Horsemen galleries up over at 16bit.com. Go check it out for about 68 photos of varying levels of quality. More galleries will be added with the vintage OSM toys, Gothtropolis, Symbiotech, and custom figures from the show as soon as time permits!
NEW CHARACTER! Terra-Firma, the Woman from Earth
I just came back from Futuretro, the Toy Tokyo show with tons of Four Horsemen stuff. I've got 300 pictures to go through, but I felt it was important to share this picture of a new character-- not a custom-- with you. Meet Terra-Firma, the Woman from Earth. Since it was noisy and the people to ask were in and out, I was not able to confirm the who/what/when/why/how, but I do have far too many pictures. So check her out!

Four Horsemen Toypocalypse Begins Friday Night!
It's about two miles and change from my hotel in New York, but I'm going to try to make it down to the TT Underground to see FUTURETRO: 45 Years of The Outer Space Men. The gallery is said to have a bunch of custom figures and special guests... plus an exclusive figure set plus art print (pictured) for $125. And I gotta be honest, I'm still waffling, but I'll probably come home with it if for no reason other than Inferno = YES and that's a dang nice print.
See you there?

Review: Four Horsemen Outer Space Men Galactic Holiday Alpha 7 Action Figure
The original Alpha 7 seemed like a sensible choice back in the 1960s, a small Martian which basically showcased everything mankind might have thought about when it came to benevolent "little green men" on the red planet. When these were larger, 6-inch tall figures, a shorter character was less of a big deal-- the pricing was different, and it didn't feel like-- forgive the pun-- you were being short-changed. While still a nice figure, the rising costs of the set combined with the positively tiny character tend to devalue the set a bit. The Galactic Holiday collection still looks wonderful and the bright colors go well with the rest of the line, but it's hard to be as excited when it comes down to bang for the buck.

Review: Four Horsemen Outer Space Men Infinity Edition Commander Comet Action Figure
Surprise, thy name is Commander Comet. After three sets of clear prepaints and a round of price increases, combined with a delay of just over a month after the promised short pre-order ship date (originally scheduled for late December 2011, it didn't ship until the end of January 2012), it seemed like we were going to be in for a rough batch of figures. I'm happy to say that despite the longer-than-expected wait and $10-per-set increase, the figure is still worth owning. The figure looks wonderful in person, and while it doesn't hold up to the insane scrutiny of my camera's macro setting, it's gorgeous in person to the human eye in normal lighting. The eyes are damn near perfect, with just the right positioning of the iris that he doesn't look nutty or stoned. He just looks like an awesome action hero, which I would've assumed might be difficult from the purple-haired gold-suited Man from Venus.
